Providing food to the hungry is elemental to Christian love.  Living Christ does this through several avenues.  We collect food which is delivered to the Bloomingdale Food Pantry.  There are also national and worldwide hunger relief efforts to which our synod benevolences support. 

THANKSGIVING BASKETS are given to 10 local families each year.  Canned and packaged foods are collected and fresh turkeys purchased.  We lovingly gather this food up so a traditional Thanksgiving meal can be enjoyed by families who otherwise might not be able to afford to have one. 

Living Christ participates along with other area churches in providing volunteers and supplies to P.A.D.S. of Elgin.  P.A.D.S. (Public Action to Deliver Shelter) provides safe shelter and support services.  They recently completed construction on their new permanent building at 1730 Berkley Street in Elgin and are now able to offer year round shelter and coordinating social services.  Living Christ volunteers two 2-hour shifts the first Wednesday of every month.  If you are interested in volunteering, see Heather Buck or email outreach@lclutheran.org

CROP Walk is an annual event which seeks to raise funds for national, international and local hunger needs.  Pledges are taken and volunteers walk a course in Carol Stream.  The next opportunity is Sunday, October 21st at 2 PM.  See Shannon O'Boyle or email outreach@lclutheran.org
